Β SALISBURY, NC — A truck slammed into the back of a stopped car, killing two people in Salisbury. Β Investigators are trying to figure out why.
The crash closed part of South Jake Alexander Boulevard near Ivy Street during the evening rush hour. Β Witnesses say the pickup rear-ended a stopped car at full speed.
“It was like somebody was outside my window and took a bucket and banged on my air conditioner out there,” said Salisbury resident Rick Sanders. Β “That’s how close it sounded and I’m way, I’m more than a thousand feet away from it.”
Two people in the back seat of the car died. Β The driver and a front seat passenger are both hurt. Β The driver of the truck is not injured.
