
UPDATE: All power has been restored in Union County as of 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A power outage in Union County is affecting dozens of schools in the area.
Union Power Cooperative says the outage is affecting approximately 24,000 people in western Union County and in parts of Mecklenburg County.
The outage is due to a Duke Energy substation outage. Crews are working to resolve the issue at this time.
