CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This week, the NC Parents Advocating for Student Health group has been pulling out all the stops for the county budget to include more school nurses. NCPASH addressed commissioners at the public budget hearing and are now hoping the votes come through.

County Manager Dena Diorio proposed adding 33 more school nurses and three supervisors. That way, each Charlotte-Mecklenburg school would have at least one full-time nurse.

Member of NCPASH and parent of a child with a chronic disease, Carrie Merner, talks about how simply sending your kid to school can be difficult for parents.
