The Mission Moment, to support the critical work of the American Cancer Society is generously presented by the Albemarle Foundation. Executive Director, Sandra Holub says, “The only way to outsmart cancer is through research, and the Albemarle Foundation is honored to support the American Cancer Society and their critical mission for a cancer-free world. The American Cancer Society goes beyond research, providing information, answers, and hope, available to all those that need it any time of day or night. As a recipient of that knowledge and hope, I am eternally grateful. So, let’s all take one step closer and re-imagine a world free from cancer.”

Re-Imagine Charlotte Mission Chair, Danna Robinson, communication manager, Harris Teeter says, “Supporting our communities is in the Harris Teeter family DNA, and it’s especially critical this year, as the American Cancer Society is facing a huge financial challenge due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of all face-to-face fundraisers. The mission of the American Cancer Society to fund critical cancer research is in jeopardy, this year funding only 50% of the grants they usually would, that means we could lose an entire generation of research progress. As an organization, Harris Teeter supports the American Cancer Society through several major fundraising initiatives including our in-store Round-Up and the Real Men Weal Pink campaign. As a mother and member of this vibrant community, I know the fight to save lives from cancer hangs in the balance.”

Nashville country music entertainer Andy Velo will perform his new single, “Wouldn’t Be The First Time,” from his upcoming album. Stay tuned, because, after the gala, Velo will perform straight from Nashville for an after party you won’t want to miss which will be live-streamed on www.WCCBCharlotte.com/reimagine and on American Cancer Society North Carolina Facebook Live.
