CMPD: 19-Year-Old Facing Multiple Charges After Fatal Northeast Charlotte Shooting

Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say a 19-year-old has been charged in the northeast Charlotte fatal shooting case that happened Wednesday night.

After an investigation, Dasan Evan Villegas was identified as the suspect in the Ronnie Abram homicide case, officers say. Law officials then issued warrants for his arrest on charges of Murder and Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon.

Villegas is currently being held in Dekalb County, Georgia, on unrelated related charges. He will be served with those warrants and extradited to North Carolina at a later date.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say a man was shot and killed on November 4th around 7:30 p.m. in northeast Charlotte.

Police say they responded to the shooting on McCullough Drive to find the victim, identified as 37-year-old Ronnie Abram, with an apparent gunshot wound. Medics later pronounced him dead at the scene.
