Pleasant through the Weekend, Eyes on the Tropics
Crisp start to the morning with temps in the 30s and 40s throughout the region. Highs will range from the low 60s in the mountains to the upper 60s to lowerΒ 70s across Piedmont. More clouds this afternoon, but rain chances won’t return to the forecastΒ until late Sunday. Well above average temps for the weekend with highs in the mid-70s. A setup across the southeast will lead to more moisture funneling into the Carolinas meaning it will feel a touch muggier for Fall standards with rain chances increasing into Wednesday. Models in disagreement about theΒ potentialΒ path of Eta, however, this storm will likely feed tropical moisture into the Carolinas leading to rain and storm chances ahead of a cold front Wednesday. If Eta gets swept up with the front then there will be potential for a much bigger rain event mid-week, but as of now that scenario looking less likely, but something to monitor over the next few days.
