CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Crews will close part of Old Dowd Road permanently Tuesday.
Officials say Old Dowd Road between Josh Birmingham Parkway and Little Rock Road will permanently close for westbound traffic at 9am on Tuesday, October 28th.
The closure will accommodate new traffic patterns related to the Josh Birmingham Realignment Project.
Traffic heading westbound from Boyer Street to Old Dowd Road will no longer be able to access Josh Birmingham Parkway. Instead, drivers on Old Dowd Road will be rerouted by taking a right onto Harlee Avenue to Josh Birmingham Parkway, giving direct access to the terminal and CLT’s Long Term Parking Lots.
Left turns from Little Rock Road onto Old Dowd Road will also be prohibited. Local access to employee parking lots and Long Term 4 will be maintained via Harlee Avenue.
