Β CHARLOTTE, NC — The adoptive father of missing Salisbury teen Erica Parsons now waits for a jury to decide his fate.
Sandy Parsons is on trial for fraud. Β Testimony from both sides wrapped up Friday, allowing the jury to begin deliberating. Β Parsons is accused of continuing to collect Erica’s Medicaid and food stamps after she disappeared in 2011. Β She wasn’t reported missing until August 2013.
Parson’s wife Casey pleaded guilty to 15 fraud charges earlier this month. Β She faces up to 200 years in prison, and will be sentenced in February.
