CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bissell has started construction of a speculative 287,507-square-foot office building in Ballantyne Corporate Park.
The Brigham Building, named in memory of Dr. Craig Brigham, will be located at 11625 North Community House Road and overlook the 12th hole of The Golf Club at Ballantyne. The ten-story project, which marks the first building since the completion of the North Community House Road bridge, is set for completion by November 2016.
Built to LEED® Gold specifications, The Brigham Building will feature a two-story lobby, glass exterior curtain walls and provide free structured parking. The building will offer a commanding corporate presence with scenic views and I-485 exposure, as well as balconies on the third and tenth floors.
“The timing is ideal to increase office inventory in Ballantyne,” said Smoky Bissell, chairman of Bissell. “We continue to invest in Charlotte because we believe in our city’s ability to attract and retain strong businesses.”
“Thanks to Bissell for continuing to bet on Charlotte with its commitment to new office buildings in Ballantyne,” said Bob Morgan, president and CEO, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. “Speculative construction is critical to luring corporate relocations and expansions to Charlotte.”
Bissell Development will oversee the project, working with architecture firm LS3P Associates and general contractor Rodgers Builders.
On the heels of breaking ground on the Brigham Building, Bissell has plans for the next phase of speculative development on the east side of Ballantyne Corporate Park. The plan presently includes a campus of three ten-story buildings and one six-story building, totaling more than 900,000 square feet, as well as a 150-room hotel with event space. Well-positioned for a corporate headquarters, Bissell’s entitlements provide the opportunity to meet the user’s requirements.
