South Carolina Troopers Charge A Man With A DUI After A 3-Vehicle Fatal Collision

BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. — Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say 43-year-old Jamells Floyd is charged with a felony DUI with death following a three-vehicle fatal collision on November 26th.

Troopers say they responded to the accident at 9:22 p.m. on Paris Bridge Road near Davis Road to find the driver of a 2007 Honda dead at the scene.

Investigators say the victim was driving with one passenger Alexis Harris, who was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries, north on Paris Bridge Road.

Driver of a 2001 Honda, 54-year-old William Watson and Floyd, in his 2004 GMC pickup, were both driving south on Paris Bridge Road when Floyd traveled left of the center lane and hit the 2007 Honda head on, according to a news release.

Police say Floyd then drove back right hitting Watson in the southbound lane of travel.

Medics took Floyd and Harris to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center to be treated for their injuries, and Watson was not injured in the crash, according to a news release.

Detectives say the victim’s name has not yet been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
