YORK, S.C. — A 12-year-old boy took a plea deal for stabbing another child in the back. Police say the child was 11-years-old when the stabbing happened in a wooded area in York County.
The victim, a 15-year-old, was found on a sidewalk with the steak knife still in his back. The suspect pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault of a high and aggravated nature. He was originally charged with attempted murder. The child will be sentenced within the next 45 days.
