Increasing Rain and Temperatures to Close Out the Year

Unsettled New Years Eve and New Years Day.

As an area of high pressure moves northeastward, giving us an onshore wind, scattered showers dominate the next 24 hours. Rain coverage will increase Thursday evening through Friday as a frontal boundary heads our way. This front will bring 1-2 inches of rain Thursday into Friday with an isolated severe weather threat on Friday for areas south of Charlotte. Temperatures will be on the rise through the remainder of the week and into the first half of the weekend as we near 70Β° on Saturday.
