CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday morning at the intersection of Parkwood Avenue and The Plaza.
Curtina Audrey was walking in the intersection when she was hit by a Mitsubishi Galant traveling eastbound on Parkwood Avenue. Audrey was pronounced dead by MEDIC on the scene. She was not in a crosswalk.
Speed and alcohol use by the driver of the car was not a factor during the crash. Police suspect the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is still investigating the crash.
