Longtime Panthers Player Greg Olsen Announces Retirement From NFL

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a 14-year career in the NFL, former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen announces he is retiring.

Olsen made the announcement on FOX Sports to say he will leave the NFL to start working in the sports broadcasting world.

Olsen, currently with the Seattle Seahawks, released a statement on Twitter thanking his wife for being with him through the ups and downs of the past 14 years, his family who got him to where he is, and everyone who supported him along the way.

Olsen thanked his teammates, coaches, and staff members everywhere he played, but he especially thanked Carolina for molding him into the player he is today.

Officials with FOX Sports say Olsen will join the family as he starts his career in the booth at FOX.
