CMPD: 24-Year-Old Man Charged For Murder In Northwest Charlotte Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say 24-year-old George Winston is charged for the murder of Cedric Kirkland.
Winston is charged for discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle, maintaining a vehicle with a controlled substance, manufacturing a schedule VI controlled substance, and murder, according to a news release.
Update (1/30/21):
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say Cedric Kirkland, 28, has been identified as the victim in this case and his family has been notified.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives say they are conducting a homicide investigation after finding one person dead in northwest Charlotte Friday afternoon.
Detectives say they responded to the scene around 4:15 p.m. near LaSalle Street and Madrid Street to find a GMC SUV off the roadway that had hit a tree, and the victim dead at the scene.
