CHARLOTTE, N.C. – WCCB News @ Ten anchor Morgan Fogarty called Angelo Grayson Smith, Junior Wednesday night to get his side of what happened to his missing girlfriend, 31-year-old Bianca Tanner. Β He didn’t return the call. Word is, he’s not returning anyone’s calls. Β Smith has stopped speaking to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department investigators and gotten a lawyer, according to Tanner’s sister. Β Cerise Richardson tells WCCB, “It definitely raises suspicion in our minds because from day one, we’ve told him all we want is Bianca home.”Β

Smith was the last person to see Tanner. Search warrants suggest he abused her. He also has an outstanding warrant in Arkansas for abusing another woman. Β WCCB asked Police Chief Rodney Monroe Wednesday about Smith’s alleged lack of cooperation. Β Monroe says, “The investigation is very sensitive and I don’t wanna say or do anything that will set back any progress that we have made on that case, and we’ll just let things unfold as they come about.”Β
Β
Also new: the Greensboro Police Department has confirmed they are assisting in the search for the missing teacher. Β She was reported missing June 8. There has been no activity on her cell phone or bank accounts. Β Her family has searched for her. Β Richardson says Smith hasn’t helped. Β Richardson says, “He’s assured us he had nothing to do with her disappearance and he wanted the same thing, for her to be returned home safely. Β So we just feel like, if that’s what you want, why aren’t you forthcoming? Why aren’t you cooperating? Why aren’t you with us, going to the end of the earth to make sure that we find her and bring her home?”Β

There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to Bianca Tanner. Β Call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 if you can help.
