Long Stretch of Soggy Weather
Rain and showers back in the forecast today. This kicks off a very wet period across the Carolinas. We may be saved from the extreme cold that will be impacting much of the U.S., but we’ll be hit with a lot of rain that could lead to localized flooding.
Today
Dense fog advisory until noon for most of the region. Rain and showers begin this morning and become steady during the afternoon. A storm or two will be possible as highs reach the upper 50s to lower 60s. 1-1.5″ of rainfall will be possible.
Weekend
Cold stretches through the weekend. Highs will only reach the low to mid-40s Saturday. Valentine’s day brings warmer, but still average temps with a brief break in the rain.
Next Week
Waves of rain beginning late Sunday. The week coming up will be soggy. Several inches of rain will be possible. We will need to keep an eye on the potential for localized flooding. Colder temps overnight into Tuesday morning for the higher elevations could also lead to more sleet and freezing rain for areas north of I-40.
