CLAREMONT, N.C. — North Carolina Troopers say 19-year-old Caroline Ervin and Bradley Koepnick, 53, were both killed in a head-on collision in Catawba County Wednesday morning.
Troopers say they responded to the wreck around 11:50 a.m. on February 17th, on Riverbend Road near Oxford School Road, to find both drivers dead at the scene.
Detectives say their investigation revealed Koepnick was driving a 2010 Ford Mustang west on Riverbend Road, when he crossed the centerline in a curve, and collided head-on with Ervin driving a 2007 Toyota Camry heading east at the time.
Police say there were no passengers involved, and the roadway remained closed three hours after the crash as detectives conducted an on-scene investigation.
