Cold Overnight with a Cooler Tuesday Ahead

Temperatures fall overnight in wake of the cold front.

After a beautiful weekend, a powerful cold front is swinging across the WCCB area. Temperatures are in the 60s this afternoon, but as clouds slightly break up and a northwest wind develops, we cool down quickly. Overnight expect mostly cloudy skies with low temperatures in the mid to upper 30s across the Piedmont & mid-20s in the High Country. Partly sunny skies dominate Tuesday with slightly cooler temperatures in place as highs only top out in the upper 40s to low 50s. Our next weather system arrives late Tuesday through Wednesday – this is an area of low pressure that will likely track south of Charlotte, therefore, I think most of the rain will be south of the I-85 corridor. A wintry mix will likely dominate our Mountain communities Tuesday night through Wednesday. An area of high pressure builds in to close out the week which will bring plenty of sunshine back to the forecast!

Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies. Cooler. Lows: 20s & 30s. Wind: N 5-10.

Tuesday: Partly sunny skies. High: 52Β°. Wind: N/SE 5-10.

Tuesday PM – Wednesday: Next weather system bringing snow to the Mountains and rain for some across the Piedmont.

Happy Monday!
