North Carolina Nursing Homes Resume In-Person Visitations
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a year of virtual visitations, long-term care facilities in North Carolina are welcoming back visitors inside their doors.
It’s the first time some loved ones have seen each other in months.
State health officials cleared the way for it to happen saying COVID cases are dropping significantly.
This week, deaths in long-term care facilities only accounted for 13 percent of all COVID deaths nationwide. That’s down from 35 percent just at the beginning of this year.
