MECKLENBURG CO., N.C. — Officials with Mecklenburg County’s Department of Social Services say they have partnered with Bio-One to offer a free one-time COVID-19 professional disinfecting service to all county residents 60 years old and up.
Bio-One officials say they will send professionals to these seniors homes to apply a chemical, approved by the CDC and EPA, to all surfaces, doorknobs, handles, light switches, and areas of the home that see a lot of use.
The chemical is safe for pets and children, but officials ask residents to leave their home for around an hour while services are being provided.
Officials say appointment slots are limited, and to call 980-314-6800 or email SFA-Events@MecklneburgCountyNC.gov to schedule an appointment or for more information.
