Serendipitous Start to Spring

A strong area of high pressure has set up to our north, bringing sunshine and cooler breezes to the Carolinas through the weekend.

Happy first day of spring! We’re kicking off the season known for blooming flowers and thawing temperatures on a high note, as partly-to-mostly sunny skies take hold of the Carolinas. Despite the increased sunshine, cool breezes from the north and east will keep temperatures below-average through Sunday morning. Variable clouds move in overnight, and even a stray shower is possible as lows in the 30s arrive. A warming trend is on the horizon, though. Expect more sunshine and highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s for our Sunday afternoon before temperatures near 70 return by midweek. The next four days should largely remain dry, but cloudy skies and a few showers could roll back into the forecast by Wednesday.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Warming up. High: 63°. Wind: NE 10-20. Gusts: 25+.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy. Chilly. Low: 42°. Wind: NE 5-15.

Monday: Sunny and even warmer. High: 66°. Wind: NE 10-20. Gusts: 25+.
