Burial Beer Co. Bringing Taproom And Bottle Shop Expansion To Plaza-Midwood

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (News Release) — Burial Beer Co.’s newest wave of expansion is taking shape in the form of Burial’s acquisition of a new retail space in the Charlotte, NC Plaza Midwood neighborhood. The property, formerly a vintage clothing store, will be the future home of Burial’s new Charlotte taproom and bottle shop. “We selected the property because it enriched Burial’s commitment to preservation and keeping unique and historic buildings alive in developing areas, where they may otherwise be torn down and replaced,” says Doug Reiser, Co-Founder and COO of Burial.

Burial Beer Coming To Plaza Midwood

An evolving manifestation of Burial’s roots in Asheville, the new Charlotte taproom will unearth Burial’s multitude of new beer releases ranging in styles from hoppy ales, dessert stouts, barrel-aged sours, wild ales, and rustic lagers in a space that pays homage to the history. The taproom will include an indoor bar area, secluded outdoor beer garden, and rooftop deck where customers can enjoy a curated variety of items from a select menu of sandwiches, charcuterie, and other locally purveyed goods.

Burial invites you to continue your craft beer journey in the new bottle shop attached to the taproom. Burial’s weekly beer releases, VISUALS wine, cider and vermouth, as well as Forestry Camp and Burial wares will be available to take home and experience.

“It all feels so surreal.” Jess Reiser, Co-Founder and CEO of Burial states. “To think we started as a 1-barrel brewery and we now are expanding into the biggest metropolitan city in North Carolina, well, it makes me take a step back and really soak it all in. Our growth wouldn’t be possible without all of the support from our community, craft beer lovers and our fellow brewers. We are beyond excited to connect to the Charlotte community over a pint of beer at the new taproom.”
