ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police say a man is under arrest for allegedly hitting the mother of his child with a gun and shooting a 24-year-old man in a domestic violence incident at a Days Inn in Rock Hill Wednesday morning.
Officers with the Rock Hill Police Department say 21-year-old Nikele Simmons was issued warrants for domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, assault and battery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, pointing and presenting of a weapon, and possession of a handgun by a person convicted of a violent crime for his involvement.
Officers say on March 24th around 10:40 a.m. they responded to reports of a man with a gunshot wound walking around the parking lot of a Days Inn on Riverview Road.
After arriving at the scene, officers were informed by the victims that Simmons had arrived at the hotel earlier armed with a handgun and threatened his child’s mother before hitting her with his weapon, and then shooting a man before fleeing the scene.
Police say Simmons will have a bond hearing on March 25th in Rock Hill Municipal Court.
