Western Carolina Rescue Ministries Hosts Foot Care Clinic On April 3rd

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Western Carolina Rescue Ministries (WCRM) will host their “Walk Humbly Clinic” on Saturday, April 3rd to provide community members in need with free socks, hygiene kits, a snack bag, and so much more.

Officials say the event has taken place on Good Friday in past years with volunteers washing, manicuring, massaging feet, and then providing those in need with a new pair of shoes and socks, however the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the WCRM to take a different approach with this year’s event.

Individuals in need may come to the gravel driveway next to WCRM on Patten Avenue in Asheville, N.C. on April 3rd from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. to pick up foot care packages prepared by Elevation Church on a first-serve basis until materials run out, according to a news release.

β€œWhile this event is very different, as compared to previous years, we still want to help provide needed essentials to those who may not have the means to purchase these items at this time,” says Jessica May, Director of Development.

May says donations of new or gently used tennis shoes are needed and can be drooped off at the WCRM.

The WCRM exists to serve the homeless, poor, and addicted populations of Western North Carolina.
