Mother Wanted on Child Abuse Charges

CHERRYVILLE, NC — A Cherryville mother wanted on felony child abuse charges was nowhere to be found Friday night.
Police have warrants out for the arrest of Taylor Wilhelm. Β Gaston County Police say she brought her 14-month-old to Caromont Regional Medical Center with blunt force trauma injuries. Β The abuse reportedly happened between January and February.
The man Wilhelm lived with, Matthew Jenkins, is charged with felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury and assault on a child.
The child is in foster care.
