GASTONIA, N.C. — Gastonia Fire Department honored Jordin Barnes with the 2014 Firefighter of the Year award.Β
Barnes has served the citizens of Gastonia for two years, having been hired by the department on February 27th, 2012.Β
In addition to working for the Gastonia Fire Department, Barnes is also a volunteer firefighter with Tryonata Volunteer Fire Department in Bessemer City.
