Anderson had 15 points as the Cavaliers moved on to face No. 7 seed Michigan State tomorrow.
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) β Breanna Richardson scored 15 points and Mississippi State beat Tulane 57-47 on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Morgan William added 14 points for the fifth-seeded Bulldogs. They shot 48 percent in the second half and advanced to a second-round matchup with host Duke tomorrow.

The fourth-seeded Tar Heels and fifth-seeded Buckeyes will be favorites to win their tournament openers today. All eyes will be on North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell, who returns to the sideline after missing last season battling leukemia.
