Enjoy the pleasant Tuesday we have on tap. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will remain mild with temps dropping into the low 50s.
Strong Mid-Week Cold Front
Wednesday brings the BIG changes. A strong cold front will first bring the wind. Gusts 30-40 mph will be possible across the region with the strong gusts for the mountains. Colder air will quickly sink through the Carolinas after that. Temps will reach the low 70s for the Charlotte metro area Wednesday, but fall into the 30s overnight. For the mountains and foothills, a Freeze Watch goes into effect midnight Wednesday through early Thursday morning as wind chills fall into the teens and 20s. High temps will be unseasonably cold Thursday, only reaching the upper 50s to lower 60s.
Weekend Rain
Temps will rebound into the upper 60s Friday. The best rain chances of the month so far will return this weekend. We’ve had less than 1/2″ of rain for the month of April so far – well below average. Showers and a few downpours will be possible Saturday. Lingering showers will keep overcast skies and soggy conditions Sunday.
