When Charlie Chaplin received a special honorary Oscar in 1972, the crowd remained on their feet for 12 minutes cheering and applauding. Other memorable moments from Hollywood’s biggest night include the time Jennifer Lawrence fell on her way to the stage to accept her Best Actress Oscar, Ellen DeGeneres taking selfies in the audience, the Best Picture mix up and the moment Adrian Brody kissed Halle Berry after she presented him with his Best Actor award.
