Β FORT MILL, SC — A registered sex offender seen exercising near a local school has agreed to change his jogging path.
York County Sheriff’s Deputies asked Jason Knapp Thursday to stop running near Orchard Park Elementary School. Β Alert parents noticed Knapp recently and reported him. Β Knapp told deputies he runs in the area for exercise.
Deputies say he committed no crime and did not go onto school property or a nearby public playground. Β Knapp was convicted in 2000 of multiple sex offenses, some involving obscene phone calls, but the specifics are unclear. Β We know his victim was a 45-year-old woman.
