CHARLOTTE, NC — A break-in will cost the Humane Society of Charlotte at least $7,000.  Thieves broke in Wednesday night and stole two laptops and a donation box filled with money.  They also shattered a glass door, cut Internet cables and ripped the electrical box off the wall.

“It’s very frustrating to come in and to see damages and know that we’re going to have to put money into repairing this and not being able to put the community into where the community needs our help,” said Humane Society VP of Operations Jorge Ortega.

Fortunately, none of the animals were hurt.  The Humane Society does not have surveillance cameras.
