CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed in west Charlotte early Thursday morning.
Police responded to Freedom Drive shortly after 1 a.m. after reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
MEDIC transported the victim, identified as 22-year-old Jaylon Deshawn Webber, to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to CMPD.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
