Clodfelter Begins Campaign for Mayor

CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter says he’s ready to begin campaigning for the 2015 election. Β Filing doesn’t start until July, but the Mayor says he’s launching his campaign now.

Clodfelter says the city needs consistent leadership after having four mayors since 2013. Β City Council appointed the former state senator after ex-Mayor Patrick Cannon’s federal corruption scandal.

Several other Democrats announced their intentions to run for Mayor. Β They include former County Commissioner Jennifer Roberts, Mayor Pro-Tem Michael Barns, and at-large council member David Howard.

On the Republican side, businessman Scott Stone says he will run.
