UNDATED (AP) β The Memphis Grizzlies became the fourth NBA team to clinch a playoff berth by beating the Knicks last night 103-82. Zach Randolph scored 23 points and Marc Gasol (gah-SAHL’) added 21 in the win, the third straight for the Grizzlies.
PHOENIX (AP) β NFL owners are considering a proposal to stop games when a medical adviser sees a player displaying obvious signs of disorientation. The move would allow a medical spotter upstairs to communicate with the officiating crew when a player appears unstable. The game would then be halted to remove the player.
GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) β It doesn’t look like Nick Swisher is going to be ready for the start of the season. Indians manager Terry Francona says Swisher is still getting in shape after undergoing surgery on both knees in August. Swisher struggled last season hitting just .208 with eight homers and 42 RBIs in 97 games.
