Cooler, Drier Heading into Memorial Day
Temperatures may struggle to get out of the 50s and 60s before recovering on Memorial Monday.
After topping out in the 90s for five out of the past six days, much cooler weather will settle into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area this Memorial Day weekend. Scattered storm chances will continue into the evening hours Saturday before clearing out by early Sunday morning as a cold front clears us to our east. Much cooler temperatures in the 50s, 60s, and lower 70s await us for the midpoint of the holiday weekend. While highs should recover to near-average values in the 70s and 80s on Memorial Day, rain chances should largely hold off until midweek. Some much-needed drought-quenching rainfall arrives by the back half of the week as temperatures hold steady in the 70s and 80s.
