Vanessa Bryant Accuses Nike Of Producing Her Sneaker Design Without Her Consent
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Vanessa Bryant is calling out Nike for allegedly producing her sneaker design without her consent. The widow posted a message to the company, after discovering that a pair of shoes she designed had seemingly leaked. She designed the shoes in collaboration with the brand to honor her 13-year-old daughter Gianna, who died with Kobe Bryant and seven others in a helicopter crash in January 2020.
Bryant says in part the shoes are not approved for sale and that she wanted all of the proceeds to go to the Mambacita Sports Foundation. She also claims Nike has not sent a pair of the shoes to her family, and claims the shoes were not even approved for production, so she’s not sure how someone else has them.
