Drier, Warmer Start to Weekend
Highs should top out near 90° before another wet cooldown starts next week.
Happy Friday! The widespread overnight rain should largely clear out by sunrise, making for what should be a mainly dry and warm day. While a few pop-up showers and storms are possible Friday afternoon and evening, most communities around the Foothills and Piedmont should deal with partly cloudy skies and highs near 90°. The High Country should top out around the upper 70s. Expect more of the same for the first half of the weekend as high pressure briefly builds across the Southeast. Don’t expect a long reprieve from the rain; another disturbance should arise from the Gulf, bringing rain Sunday night into Monday. Temperatures should take a dip into the lower 70s and 80s to start out the week before recovering back into the 80s and 90s by Wednesday.
