NEW YORK (AP) β€” She’s the “Yankee Diva” from Kansas City, Missouri, who sang the national anthem at last week’s World Series game. Joyce DiDonato was invited to the ballpark after fans launched a social media campaign that went viral.

The Royals lost, but the Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano hit the musical ball out of the park.

On Tuesday, for the first time, Carnegie Hall is live streaming a concert to a global audience of tens of thousands β€” starring DiDonato.

In a sort of musical World Series, it’s one of four such Carnegie concerts by top artists in partnership with the website medici.tv. The Paris-based digital provider of musical events reaches its audience via the Internet.

In her Twitter, Facebook and YouTube appearances, DiDonato jokingly calls herself the “Yankee Diva.”
