CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CATS will increase weekday frequency on several bus routes beginning Monday, June 7th.
Officials say the following routes will operate on an all-day, 20 minute frequency during weekdays:
- Route 8 Tuckaseegee.
- Route 10 West Blvd.
- Route 11 North Tryon.
- Route 21 Statesville Avenue.
- Route 34 Freedom Drive.
Officials say these transit improvements are part of CATS’ initiative, Envision My Ride, that is attempting to redesign the bus system to make travel even easier for the community.
“Through Envision My Ride, staff learned that riders desire all-day consistent frequency, opposed to transitional bus timetables,” said CATS CEO John Lewis. “By shifting our bus routes to this service model, we are able to provide greater reliability for our riders.”
CATS officials say since 2020 they have put 20-minute weekday frequency on twelve bus routes, improving the bus system’s speed and efficiency.
