Classic Summertime Pattern Arises

Temperatures should hover around the 90º mark for much of the week ahead.

We’re moving into the first full week of June, and it’s going to feel like it. Heat, humidity, and rain will all come into the fold this week as a moisture-laden body of Gulf air arrives by the second half of the weekend. Expect highs in the mid-to-upper 80s in the Piedmont and Foothills for the next three days, while the High Country bounces around the 70s. Mostly cloudy skies will kick off the week before some more sunshine arrives by Wednesday. Pop-up showers and storms are on the menu for the next seven days, although no single day ahead looks like a wash. The heat cranks up a step further by midweek, as temperatures top out near 90º around the Metro. Hot and sticky conditions should continue into the weekend with no relief in sight.

Tonight: Mild and muggy with isolated storms. Low: 70°. Wind: S 5-10.

Sunday: Sticky. Pop-up storms. High: 85°. Wind: S 5-10.

Sunday Night: Scattered storms. Low: 70°. Wind: SW 5-10.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with scattered storms. High: 85°. Wind: SW 5-10.
