New Bill Asks for $20 Million For Teacher Raises

CHARLOTTE, NC — Former CMS board member and new State Senator Joyce Waddell wants to boost salaries for veteran teachers.

The legislature approved an average seven percent raise for new teachers last year.  Waddell has introduced a bill asking for $20 million to give experienced teachers similar raises.  

The Democrat wants the money to come from the general fund.
