RALEIGH, NC — Republican Senator-Elect Thom Tillis plans to begin work in D.C. next week.  A day after narrowly unseating incumbent Kay Hagan, Tillis spoke in Cornelius Wednesday about developing bipartisan efforts to boost the economy.  He says he’s also focused on fulfilling his campaign promise to repeal Obamacare.

“We’ve been given an opportunity to lead, and now we have to lead.  And that means moving bills from the House to the Senate and to the President’s desk,” said Tillis.

Tillis is one of nine freshman Republican senators.  He says he plans to pay his dues and meet with the senior leadership to see where his help is needed.
