LOS ANGELES (AP) — Entertainment executive Jerry Perenchio says he’s making a huge donation of artwork to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art because the city helped make his career possible.
Perenchio and the museum announced the donation Thursday. The works include dozens of pieces by such artists as Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet and Camille Pissarro.
The 83-year-old Perenchio says he came into the spotlight to encourage others to donate as well.
Museum CEO Michael Govan says it’s the largest single gift to the institution.
