Morrison abruptly announced his resignation Monday evening.  He claims the resignation is due to family matters.  Morrison has been the superintendent of CMS for two and a half years.

The vote to accept his resignation happened Thursday during an emergency meeting that was closed to the public.  Board members also agreed to not provide any additional severance than what’s called for in Morrison’s contract.

There are reports that Morrison was under investigation prior to his resignation.

Recently retired Associate Superintendent in Charge of Construction Guy Chamberlain confirmed to WCCB Tuesday night that he was interviewed in the last two weeks by a CMS attorney, and was asked about cost overruns at new schools and Morrison bullying staff.  CMS has not confirmed that Morrison was under investigation.
