Unseasonably Cool Weather Continues
AM Headlines:
- Cooler than average temps
- Dry and sunny days
- Weekend rain and storm chances
- Heat returns next week
Discussion:
Another gorgeous unseasonably cool day with highs reaching the low 80s this afternoon. Dry and sunny today, but high pressure will lose its grip as it slides off the east coast Friday. This means the return of a typical summertime pattern isolated to scattered afternoon and early evening thunderstorms. Temps will remain a few degrees below average through the weekend. Humidity will build and temps will climb next week with highs back in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Scattered to numerous afternoon storms will be possible, but the severe threat will remain low.
Tropics Update
A disorganized system 200 miles east of Barbados has little chance of development over the next few days as it enters a less conducive environment. An area to watch though will be off the African coast. Although water temps are cool, the NHC is giving this system a medium chance of development with a possible small tropical depression early next week.
