Heading to the Carolina coast this holiday weekend? Mother nature is on your side!
Friday across the Carolinas will not be ideal for outdoor plans as a cold front will bring numerous showers. Thankfully, the front does not stall and will clear the coast early Saturday morning.
Expect mostly cloudy skies and a couple of showers early Saturday morning, but skies will clear through the day and dry air will build in.
By lunchtime you should see mostly sunny skies and a north wind making way to a gorgeous holiday weekend!
Before entering the water, please know your swimming ability. It is always a good idea to swim with a buddy.
If you are caught in a rip current do NOT try to swim directly to shore and do NOT fight the current. You want to save as much energy as you can so try your best to stay calm and swim along the shoreline (parallel to shore) until you escape the current.
- The water temperature in the Atlantic right now is 79°.
- The UV index is forecast to be very high, close to extreme both Saturday and Sunday so be sure to remember to apply and reapply your sunscreen. Enjoy your weekend and stay safe!
