Soggy Friday, Beautiful Holiday Weekend
Slightly cooler and much drier conditions settle in by our Fourth of July Sunday.
Happy Friday! You may want to hold off on your outdoor plans until the weekend. A moisture-laden cold front that has sat over the Midwest for the better part of the past week finally completes its trek into the Atlantic today. Its final stop? The Carolinas. Expect clouds and rain throughout much of our Friday, especially south of I-40. A more blanketing rain subsides by the early afternoon before pop-up storms return by the evening. While it won’t be a beautiful close to the workweek by any means, it will be well worth it for a beautiful holiday weekend.
Slightly cooler temperatures and much drier conditions move into the forecast for our Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures in the mid-80s to low 90s and low humidity. Sunday’s firework festivities should get the green light, as rain chances appear minimal through the start of next week. While the weather should be nice through the first half of the week ahead, we’ll have to watch carefully for current Tropical Storm Elsa as it moves closer to the US coastline.
