HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Huntersville dance teacher is behind bars and accused of sexual offenses with a former student.
Investigators say Steven “Eddie” Mabry was 44-years-old at the time of the first assault. The victim who is now an adult, told police the incident Β allegedly happened at Mabry’s home when they were 14.Β
Huntersville Police say the two knew each other from Mabry’s dance studio, Eddie Mabry Talent, in Fort Mill. The victim took dance lessons from Mabry starting from age seven and later went on to work with the dance studio.Β
Authorities have charged Mabry with statutory sexual offense against a person who is 13, 14, or 15 years old by a defendant who is at least 6 years older than the victim. He also is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.Β
