COBB COUNTY, GA — Public support for a Georgia father accused of leaving his toddler to die in a hot SUV has all but disappeared.  Organizers have pulled an online petition that demanded his release from jail.

Friday, investigators confirmed that when they looked at the dad’s work computer, they found a search for “how long does it take for an animal to die  in a hot car.”  The dad says his son’s death is a horrifying mistake.

“You could feel his sorrow and hurt over the situation,” said a witness.  “He just screamed, ‘What have I done?’  Loudly.”

“Obviously it was a bit dramatic, you know, hands in the air, looking towards the sky, ‘What have I done?'” said another.

The toddler’s funeral is Saturday.  The father is scheduled to face a judge next week.
